... Mike: Actually your issues are in a good spot for minimal loss of range of motion. I had same surgery in Jan 07. I was out of work for almost 3 months. Desk job, with lots of computer work, which ranks right up there for adding stress to this particular region. Everybody fuses/heals at a different rate. Complete fusion can take 6 mos - year.
