... Hey kabatron, Thanks for replying! Unfortunately I haven't got relief yet. They called me out Soma, which I am trying to take as little as possible. I hate to sleep all day but right now that's the only relief i'm getting for now. I'm excited to hear what your ns says tmrw. I go friday to see mine. I did have a little panic yesterday when I couldn't get the pain to ease up,... (6 replies)
... wanted to ask somebody thats had this surgery if ya'll had these same symptoms post-op. today I started feeling like"electric shocks" from my elbows to my hands. It is not the same tingling & numbness I had before surgery. Don't know really how to describe it, just feels like maybe those little hand buzzers that kids play with where they shake your hand & it gives you a little... (10 replies)
... I'm 4 days post op and I really feel great; well almost :) After reading some of the posts on other blogs I was expecting the worst! Surgery went extremely well with no unforeseen complications. The surgeon was expecting to perform a bone graft from my Iliac Crest, however this wasn't necessary! I was so happy when I realized this. The pain and numbness in my left arm has all... (4 replies)

... Hi Rob, Yes, it is so uncomfortable. Like you said, also scary sometimes as you just wonder what is next or where it's headed. The other thing for me is it is so unpredictable...yesterday was a pretty good day. Today, my nervous system feels very jumpy and electrified. I am hopeful to see some improvement. No further deterioration, of course, is my expectation...but, I... (11 replies)

... Hello, I have read your posts with intense interest over this past week. First, congrats on your anniversary date. I celebrate your success and empathize with your ambivalence at the ongoing process of recovery. I am hoping you may be able to help me considering the uniqueness of your injury. I am complicated. I am 6 months post op from a revision lumber fusion... (3 replies)
... Sounds great. your attitude rocks! I am just at 4 months post op, and I am darn near back 100%. I will be going skiing in January, with my NS blessing. I broke my neck skiing 7 years ago and was the contributing factor to bulging, and cord compression over the years. If you fall off the horse, get back on it and kick it's ***. Merry Xmas all. ... Hi I am almost 15 months post-op (ACDF C5/6/7) and my scar is still sore at the end. When I had my first checkup after my operation the surgeon told me that maybe there was a stitch at the end of it bothering me and that it would heal. I brought it up to him 14 months after that it was still sore and he just ignored my question. I wish I would have persisted that I get... (10 replies)
... It is now 11 weeks post op from my 2-level, I started up the past week with a clicking sound in my neck when i turn. It kind of leveled off past two days. My problem was on the... (2 replies)
... Suzanne, I can totally relate to what you guys are going through. I had the same surgery, and the post-op was the worst pain I have ever experienced (and you are talking about someone who had 35 hours of unmedicated labor prior to this!). The first 2 weeks are the worst in my experience. The muscles of the neck and back have been totally abused- they crank your neck all... (5 replies)
... Way to go, Tintx! Glad to hear you are doing OK. I am 12 days post-op today, and finally was able to spend some time in bed last night (three two-hour sleep sessions). My NS released me to go back to PT, so I went today - halleluia! My PT said he had never seen my Trapezius muscles so hard before, and I have been seeing him for almost two years. As you can probably... (1 replies)
... Hi, Thought I'd share my good news. Had my first post op visit & xray, everything shows to be healing oK. I'm relieved, since I was worried most about the graft taking--I just haven't had the motivation to quit smoking, even though I know nicotine discourages bone healing. I know it's insane, but I'm just too nervous to quit right now. Not enough distractions! ... (1 replies)
