... Just had my 6 week post op from ACDF C5-6 C6-7. The xrays did not show any bone growth, but they said they did not really expect to. They did not clear me to go back to work. I sadly agree with the decision. I drove 20 minutes to work, then worked in my room for 45 minutes, chatted for 30 minutes and then drove 5 minutes to dr.appt. the 20 minutes to supermarket and another 15... (24 replies)
... Believe it or not... you can get used to that collar. I wore it before surgery, so knew what to expect after (practice of sorts-lol). I'm not crazy about it either, but sleeping in a recliner helps, as does packing all manner of small squishy pillows around your head and shoulders to make you more comfortable. You can't do much in them. I think that's the basic idea. When... (9 replies)

... C5-6 ACDF two days ago. Woke up in post-op recovery with terrible pain but it wasn't the pain I had been experiencing prior to surgery. The pain in my shoulders and arms was gone. ... I'm 4 1/2 months post op of an ACDF C5-C6 and I'm still in a great deal of pain. I bought a puppy 4 weeks ago in hopes to redirect my mind off of my pain. ... Good topic and I don't believe its been talked about before. I agree with Neckpatient - be creative and if anything bothers your neck change positions. My husband rushed me a little post-op (I had a cervical laminectomy, not ACDF) -I was nervous at first but just found what works. Frankly I don't remember for sure it was two years ago - I do remember that while I liked... (5 replies)
