Help need advice

I am an 18 year old male, and I'll be leaving to go to college in a week. I went to a very very small high school, so as far as dating goes...there was no playing field because I knew everyone. In that time I only made out with one girl and I have never had a girlfriend. I always said to myself, "Once I get to college where theres more people to meet, things will get better", but now I am having my doubts. I just get the feeling that I am not going to meet any girls, and the same thing will continue. BTW, I'm not ugly or weird or anything. I am a little shy, so I have trouble walking up to strangers. Anyone in college, or freshly out of college care to comment?
