Thelma, sorry to hear of the problems. I know how frustrating it can be to go to a new doctor and think "this is it" and have a little tease of improvement only to fall back to the pain again. If you think of it as it took over 2 years for your bite to deteriorate so its going to take a while to get back to normal. One of my doctors said that it was a good sign when I did have improvement and things were looking up because it shows that the muscles can go back to where they are supposed to be. So that was a good sign that you felt improvement even though it was shortlived.
What type of splints are you in and what are they supposed to be doing to your teeth?
I'm having the same problem with a crown. They don't want to do a permanent until the tmj calms down and now I'm getting invisalign braces in two weeks so I can't do any work to the tooth because they've already make the molds. It popped out when they did the impressions for the braces and it's been bothering me even more since they cemented it back, same pressure feeling as luvmydog. I'm getting worse muscle spasms than before. They did leave it out for a few days when this started 3 years ago but it didn't help, the pressure from the bite went onto the tooth next to it. They also said it shouldn't be out for any length of time because the teeth will shift.
