TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Board Index

Cavity fillings is the only thing she's ever had, she's always had TMJ though it was just never so bad, and the doctor wanted to give her braces or something but her parents said it wasn't a problem. Years later... but you know a year ago she got a concussion on her left ear with her headphones, she tripped over something and hit a brick wall ear first (it was back when she started to go blind). It's just now starting to have side effects if that is the case?

(I found the post :D), and her symptoms are: Jaw muscles are sore, popping and crackling noises, hearing loss and ringing in her ears, shoulder, neck pains, sometimes even painful behind her eyes or cheek areas. (Her mouth has never lined up right) It hurts when she yawns. She can't bite down but she's never been able to.

When she was younger her dentist wanted to do jaw surgery cause her jaw was too big, and wanted to give her braces, (but her parents opted out). She is talking to me as I type so I sound repeitive. Also pain in her front teeth but more on the right side than on the left.
(oops sorry the order of these posts are hard to read because I just replied to an earlier post):

Hmm is there a list of TMJ specialists I can find somewhere?

HI--She definitely needs a specialist, and x-rays and testing. You can look under the Great tmj doctors thread at the top of the tmj board page, and see if any are in your area. If you feel comfortable doing so, tell us what city you are located in and someone may give you a great referral that way.
As far as her accident with her headphones, depending on how hard she hit the side of her face, she could have dislocated something. She definitely needs x-rays, and a good exam by a specialist. Let us know where you are for a referral. ---J.

ps--as far as x-rays, she definitely needs tomograms done, and maybe an mri, but the specialist can make that call.
