TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Board Index
My symptoms have been going on for 4 months. I'm 21 years old.
They are
-spacey feelings/heavy head/hard to concentrate
-pain in back right tooth area(which may just be a cavity)
-jaw and face pain the other day but this was the first time it happened and it went away with pain reliever.
-mild headaches(rare, they've only happened like twice in the whole four months)
I just don't know what to do anymore I feel horrible and weak and sick daily and no doctors seem to help. They just give me anti dizzy meds that don't help. I'm even getting anxious with worry now!! And now I don't know if I'm imagining some things or it's real
I'm sorry to hear you are going through this.

What doctors have you seen?

If you haven't this is what I would do:

Go to your GP and get a complete physical done - blood work; urinalysis; ekg etc.

See an Ears Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor about your dizziness - inner ear problems can cause dizziness.

Assuming the ENT rules out everything - go see a neurologist about your pain and dizziness - again to rule out other possible causes

Find a dentist you specializes in TMJ - easier said than done. There is no special training required for a dentist to call themselves a TMJ specialist. Check the thread "great tmj dentists" for someone in your area.

What other symptoms do you have? Typically TMJ suffers have limited opening; pain opening or chewing; joint get locked in a closed or open position; soreness around the joint and neck; headaches etc.

Hope you feel better soon.
