I am 19. When I begin to urinate my urethra burns. It only burns when the urine first comes on, once i start going it does not hurt. It is extremely painful. I have to grit my teeth and let my urine out very slowly at first to reduce the pain. Once the urine starts coming out i can urinate without any pain.
The tip of my penis is a little red and it even seems swollen. I went to the emergency room and a family doctor. The emergency doctor to me to take advil (yeah right). My family doctor gave my me phenazopyridine.
My urine tests were negative. I am not sexually active. I have no back pain, no bladder pain, I urinate at a normal frequency, there is no discharge.
What could be wrong with my urethra?
