I've had test done for yeast infections, gonnorea, chlamydia. All negative. I've been having the urge to pee almost every hour and the urine flow is good and there's a fair amount of pee. Whenever I push my lower abdomen out, I get this tingling sensation in my urethral opening that makes me want to go pee. What is this? It's driving me nuts!
Missy,
I feel your frustration. For five years, I experienced "heaviness" in my bladder, urgency to go, and "tingling"- this all has varied from very little symptoms to quite painful. All tests (UA culture, CT/GC, HSV, HPV, RPR) negative! I finally saw a urologist- I thought he was going to think I was crazy, but he didn't. What he has found thus far (this all started in May)- from ultrasound, I am retaining about 4 ounces of urine, at any given time (explains "heaviness" feeling); following cystoscopy, was that I was, in fact, and had had numerous infections (he saw scarring on the base of my bladder and where the bladder meets the urethra); after urodynamics, it appears to be my urethra that is causing the problem- either stricture or obstruction. He said it is one of these that has been the underlying cause of my urine retention and "tingling" (aka undetectable infections). I am scheduled for an MRI of my urethra later this month. I am more than happy to keep you posted. I never, in a million years, thought I would be on a path to resolution with this issue, but I am so glad I have pursued this. I hope this helps you.
