Hey everyone. I'm sure that there are many frequent urination questions, most of which have came on at some certain point. for me, i have had frequent urination my whole life, as long as I remember.

A little background: from an early age till around 11 or 12, I had problems with constipation, where sometimes I would wait as long as a week to have a bowel movement (could this have contributed to my bladder not growing to full size?) anyway, that was taken care of. I am a 22 year old male in good shape. I am healthy and do not have diabetes. This leads me to believe it's not a prostate problem, as it's been happening my whole life.

I would say I urinate about 15-20 times a day, depending on what i drink. Obviously this is incredibly annoying.

does anyone have any recommendations as to what to do? I know there are medicines out there, but i try to avoid taking medicine unless I need to because i am pretty susceptible to side effects. I have heard of bladder exercises, but honestly, i've tried those and i usually just end up going to the bathroom instead of waiting as long as possible.

thanks in advance!
For frequent bathroom trips, my doctor suggested not drinking any fluids after 7 at night. It takes the bladder about 4 hours to empty. During the day/work hours, you might try limiting your intake/water etc. to a lunch break, or even until after 2:30 in the evening.
I dont think your constipation have/had anything to do with your bathroom runs. I have a teen son that has/had the same constipation problems as Andrew would hold it until just about the end of the week! One of several problems with that is, that he would stop up my toilet, if you can beleive that, and I would have to use the plunger everytime he decided to go sit. His doctor/pediatrician suggested a gentle laxative. It's the one that you can buy in a cookie. He was told to eat one everyday with a full 8 oz. of water. He's a great deal better with his bowel movement now. Anyway, I said all of that to say that he never had problems with his bladder. Of course everyone is different. I'm older now (50) and go more often than I would like at bedtime, but that's mainly cause I drink fluids at the wrong Knowing I'll be up because of it. I pray you find an answer to your problem!
