Hi ill try to make this short. 30 yr old male. About 6 weeks ago I began feeling the constant urge to urinate. Frequency and urgency. I went to PCP and urologist. got 3 std tests and 3 cultures, all neg. std test were hiv syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, ureaplasma, mycoplasma, trich, which came back negative. Also prostate exam, ultrasound done on bladder and kidney. doc said seemed fine. my urethra began to become inflamed I believe from peeing so much. In this 6 week span I did have a small clear discharge about 4 times. PCP prescribed Flomax (alphablockers) which helped out a good bit but side effects were very bad. urologist said he thinks its from when I had the flu a month prior and said the virus is leaving the body and can aggravate the bladder and that I would be fine. but I don't feel fine. my symptoms did get better around the 4th week for about 3 or 4 days then again came back with that urge to go, bladder fullness. I don't have any burning, or sores or anything. now I mostly have slight urge at times, slight urethra irritation (like I have pee still in my urethra), also like a tickle, occasional small clear discharge, dribbling urine after urination. after I urinate or ejaculate it seems to agitate the problems. Im very worried. Could this really be a flu virus that I need to just give more time? Is this another std? Someone informed me that this could be Chronic pelvic pain syndrome? Prostatitis? again, I don't really have any pain, just very annoying feeling of having to go all the time. this is really affecting me mentally. Any input will help very much

Hi. Sorry you are having trouble. I don't know much about men's urology issues. But, from what you mention about symptoms, it sounds like a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). Did they culture the urine? Gets sent to lab and they see what grows and which antibiotic will help. I also took a med called URIBEL. It's not an antibiotic but anti spasm med. I just went through 4 months of a stent in my kidney plus months of antibiotic resistant UTI. The URIBEL helped. Somehow clears infection. You pee blue. In my case purple because had blood too. I never heard of the flu and urinary tract being related. Also a disorder called INTERSTITIAL CYSTITUS. not sure spelled correct. Same symptons but usually you run to bathroom 20 times a day.

I would get a second opinion if I were you. Hope you feel better. Please update..
