... Thanks Mary and Santee. Very helpful both. Hoping you recovered well Santee. It sounds like an awful experience you had with your Gyn. Your experience Mary, is exactly what I'm trying to avoid...but after having thought long and hard, I've now realised there is no alternative way - ie that these repeated tests have to be done in order to be absolutely sure. And now I've... (6 replies)
... Reba73 - Thanks for responding. I am definately perimenopausal. I almost think having my tubes tied and then having the ablation sent me there early then expected. I never had bleeding or inconsistent periods before. Maybe turning 40 (2 years ago) really made a difference. I can't imagine going through this for another 10 years. I was taking 10 mg of lexapro but I... (27 replies)
... if your mood swings, anxiety, migraines etc. could be due to perimenopause symptoms, I don't know much about not producing progesterone and I don't know why the lining would grow back but I guess it can. I don't blame you for wanting to be happy again and have your old body back. ... (27 replies)

... Hi Knightsr...... I, too, had a thickened lining. Had a biop and all the blood work to check things out and a pelvic and vaginal ultrasound. I ended up having an ablation on oct. 16 and I am still bleeding. I am wondering if this is right? Did you bleed after the ablation? I am not talking about spotting...I am BLEEDING heavy at times. I went back for a post op visit... (27 replies)
... You are welcome Reba.........I know you must be scared as I am, too. Did you have a biopsy done? I did have a biopsy and it came back ok....but seems I read somewhere that the biopsy is done from a couple of snips of the endometrial lining and maybe the snips the docs get doesn't necessarily get the area ? Maybe I am just a worry wart? LOL I will be glad... (27 replies)
... of women go on to a hysterectomy later....UGHHHHHH I am not sure what is the cause of the thickened lining for myself. She feels that maybe there is polyp's in the ueterus that may be causing it. Everything else checked out ok as far as hormones ect. So.... ... (27 replies)
... Hi Lynn - I'm curious as to what you found out. I just turned 53 and am having abnormal bleeding, didn't have a period for 4 months and now it's almost continuous. Doctor wants to do a D&C. I also have 2 fibroids. Did the ablation go okay? Thanks. Becky (27 replies)
... will be found during the hystercope. Hoping it is just polyp's. I do have 2 small fibroids but my doc doesnot feel that is the cause of the problem. She said the lining is about 2 times the thickness it should be. ... (27 replies)
... e past couple of days these are the results I have recieved from those tests. I have A Typical Squamous cells on my cervix, a cyst on one of my ovaries, and the lining of my uterus is abnormally thick. The doctor is still planning on doing the procedure on the 31st. ... (1 replies)
... Back to you.....it is good that you are getting checked. Your doc must have thought your uterine lining was thicker, and for that they will do a biopsy. ... (1 replies)
... What did the Dr. say? It is now March 06 and I just read your post. I am going in for a D&C in4 days due to thickened uterine lining and free-floating fluid in both sides of my uterus. I just changed doctors because my previous gyno didn't take my complaints seriously (post-coital bleeding, sudden irregular periods and spotting). So keep after your Dr. if he keeps... (31 replies)

... Sorry you are going through this. 5mm is pretty normal for the postmenopausal lining. It is very possible that this slight spotting could be from vaginal or urethra atrophy and not the uterus. So, hopefully, your biopsy will be normal. Did your sister have endometrial cancer? Let us know what you find out. (13 replies)

... Hi Linda, I'm sorry for your suffering. Hopefully, the bleeding will prove to be nothing serious. Since you have a prolapsed uterus, your bladder and urethra may also be prolapsed which may be the cause of the bleeding as well as the UTI's. Typically though bleeding after menopause is investigated with an ultrasound of the uterine lining and/or an endometrial biopsy. I read... (4 replies)
... Not so good. Still in pain, nothing different, only worse. My problem is pain right in the middle of my pelvic area, feels like uterus area. It goes away on the first day my period, my period lasts 3 days, and then the pain comes back. Just went through it. ... (13 replies)

... all i found out is that the uterus is 7.5 cm long and 5 cm wide. it weighs approximately 40 grams. ... (6 replies)
... I was just reading about that in "The Wisdom of Menopause" by Christianne Northup, MD. There is a hormone interruption when the pathway from the ovaries to the uterus is stopped when the tubes are tied. I had never known that before. It seems strange, but that's what she says. ... (27 replies)
... After I had the ablation I had spotting and cramping but it didn't last long. I think it's strange that you are bleeding. I understand an ablation is where they caurterize the uterus, which reduces the blood vessels. You should feel the difference quick (or at least that is what I thought) and should not be bleeding. After my ablation I had super light periods. Mine never... (27 replies)
