... The pap smear just takes scrapings of cells from the surface of the cervix. The MD went inside the uterus with the hysteroscope and took a biopsy of the uterine lining. You can have tumors within the uterus and still have a negative pap. Hope this helps... ... (1 replies)

... o the gyno for that reason and concerns for PCOS. I had a pap and was given an ultrasound. I was told that I have a small cyst on my ovary, but was told that the lining of my uterus was very thick 23mm! She said that she doesn't feel it is PCOS or Menopause... what could it be? ... (1 replies)
