... Ahhh Marise..I am so sorry to hear that the doctor feels this is cancer. I know how it is to wait for the surgery and it truly is, believe me here...the worst part of all. It really is. Everything else is manageable..you'll be busy healing but waiting.. geeeez it's the hardest. You have time though to get yourself all ready and set up for a great recovery from surgery.... ... I know our minds tend to think the worst. But the odds are in your favor that this isn't serious. Hopefully, the colposcopy will show it's low grade and it will resolve on its own or, worst case, require removal of the abnormal cells. I've only had one abnormal pap (don't recall the details but I don't think it was glandular cells) and my gyn repeated it 6 or so months later... (1 replies)

... Hi Lucy I certainly can understand what you are going through. After a few instances of post-menopausal bleeding I had an endometrial biopsy done and it came back as well-differentiated endometrial adenocarcinoma grade 1. It is a shock when we learn that we have cancer. I think it was very unprofessional for your doctor to call you at work with the news. That is not... (9 replies)
... Hi everyone Glad I found these boards. It helps to know there are others out there who know the feelings of fear, dread etc... I have yet to have a diagnosis but from my research, I think it's clear something is amiss! haven't had a period in 6 years and back in Jan had some spotting, very minimal. I ignored it- shame on me. Anyway, last Monday it started again, called the... (3 replies)
... After 3 months of intermittent post-menopausal bleeding, I had an ultrasound done 2 weeks ago and, today, an outpatient biopsy/D&C/hysteroscopy. The hysteroscopy found a polyp not seen on US. Ultrasound reported 12mm uterine thickness, but not the polyp. Surgeon believes whomever read the US confused the polyp for 12mm uterine thickness. To confirm this, I'm wondering if... (0 replies)

... I can't answer you about uterine cancer. But I do suggest that you go to a gynecologist as soon as possible. I bled after menopause just once, it last 5 days. Went to the Dr. to find out that my fibroid tumors had grown. I had a hysterectomy. My friend, after many years in menopause, started staining. she went to Dr. and her fibroids got bigger, but she also had uterine... (2 replies)
