Vaccination & Immunization Message Board

Vaccination & Immunization Board Index

Oh my goodness!
Apr 5, 2004
i just saw some terribly disturbing picures of children with bad reactions to vaccinations (smallpox)

it is from the CDC
yet then there is this

and it says and i quote "Today, none of the vaccines used in the U.S. to protect preschool children against 11 infectious diseases contain thimerosal as a preservative." and when i called and asked for the ingredience in vaccines at my health dept. they said the lable on the box of vaccines said "preservative free" yet when digging a little deeper she said "oh wait it does say there is trace amounts of thimerisol in them"
what is the deal!!!! does it have thimerisol in it or not JEEZ!

this says:
"What is thimerosal?

Thimerosal is a very effective preservative that has been used in some vaccines and other products since the 1930ís. Thimerosal contains approximately 49% ethylmercury. There is no evidence of harm caused by the low doses of thimerosal in vaccines, except for minor reactions like redness and swelling at the injection site. However, in July 1999 the Public Health Service (PHS) agencies, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and vaccine manufacturers agreed that thimerosal should be reduced or eliminated in vaccines as a precautionary measure. Today, all routinely recommended licensed pediatric vaccines that are currently being manufactured for the U.S. market contain no thimerosal or only trace amounts" :o

i have asked if i can get the vaccines for my child with no thimerisol in them and no one around here has them! (they all have the ones that contain trace amounts) this makes me so mad!

and then for everyone who thinks doctors have booted the idea that autism is caused by mercury in vaccines...well the CDC says the study is on going
"The Institutes of Medicine (IOM) thoroughly reviewed all studies of thimerosal and concluded that there is not enough evidence to determine whether or not neurodevelopmental disorders (autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and speech or language delay) can be caused by thimerosal exposure from childhood vaccines."
"Research examining relationships between thimerosal and neurological disorders (such as speech and language delay, tics, and ADHD) have not been conclusive. Studies to examine these issues are ongoing."
