Vaccination & Immunization Message Board

| For any reccomended travel vaccinations, you can go to the site www.CDC.gov.travel and enter your destination and it will give you the reccomendations. For Mexico, they reccomend the Hep A & B (which you can get both at one time with the Twinrix vaccine) and a Typhoid vaccination. ALSO be up to date on your Tetanus-Diptheria and Measles boosters. If you think you might be exposed to any animals, a pre-exposure Rabies vaccination might be good. And dont drink the water! Your local clinic might have what's called a travel clinic, too and you can call and ask them what they suggest. I think you need to have more than one hep vaccination -- 3 or 4 over a certain period of time, so now's the time to start getting vaccinated so you're good to go at travel time. |
