Vaccination & Immunization Message Board

Vaccination & Immunization Board Index

Hi ~ I'm a 41 year old woman in pretty good health. I recently went to the doc for a check-up and she gave me the new combination Tetanus/Whooping Cough vaccination. The first day it didn't hurt too much, the second day it was super sore and there was a big "knot" in my arm, the third day the lump was still there and it started to get red and hot. Today, "Day Four," the knot is still there (it feels very hard) and it is still sore and hot and now it itches! It's driving me mad. I don't feel sick or feverish or anything, but my arm sure is hot and sore.

Is this a normal reaction and if so, how long does it normally take to get back to normal?

I'd appreciate any info you have.
