After seven years old, you get the Td vaccination from then on which doesn't have the pertussis vaccine in it. ... ontrary. I do know how bad off my son would have been without the shot. Its a known fact... that children who do have the shot, and do aquire a disease such as whooping cough, get it much much worse. My son was bad as it was. ... mygizzy, the next time you get a tetanus booster, you'll get the typical Td shot (Tetanus/Diptheria). The Tdap shot is a ONE time booster for teens and adults to give them the added protection against pertussis (whooping cough) since your last DTap was around age 7 and the pertussis immunity has waned since then.
